Forge of Holding is a web-based character vault for tabletop RPGs played in Foundry VTT. It stores, displays, and lets you edit character sheets online. Currently supports Dungeons & Dragons and Pirate Borg. Import characters from Foundry VTT using the Character Vault module, share them with your party via links, and access them from any device.

Install the Character Vault module in your Foundry VTT instance. Generate an API key from the Settings page in Forge of Holding, then paste it into the module's configuration in Foundry.

Once connected, you can push characters from Foundry to your vault with a single click. Changes sync both ways -- edits in Forge of Holding can be pulled back into Foundry.

Yes. All character data is private by default. Only you can see your characters unless you create a share link. Share links can be revoked at any time. API keys grant access only to applications you configure, and you can revoke those from the Settings page too.

An API key is a secret token (starting with cvk_) that lets third-party applications access your character data without your Google password. The primary use case is the Character Vault Foundry VTT module.

Generate keys from the Settings page. Each key can be named for easy identification. Treat API keys like passwords -- don't share them publicly.

Yes. Open a character in your vault and use the share option to generate a link. Anyone with the link can view (but not edit) your character sheet. You can revoke the share link at any time to make the character private again.

Forge of Holding does not directly import from D&D Beyond. It works with Foundry VTT character data. If your characters are in Foundry VTT (many groups import D&D Beyond characters into Foundry), you can push them to Forge of Holding from there.

Forge of Holding supports Dungeons & Dragons and Pirate Borg, both using the Foundry VTT actor data format.

For Dungeons & Dragons, this includes classes, races, spells, inventory, features, and biography fields. For Pirate Borg, it covers abilities, weapons, armor tiers, rituals, hats, and class features. D&D SRD content is referenced under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0.

You can delete individual characters from your vault at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at ken@futurehax.com. We process deletion requests within 30 days and remove all characters, API keys, share links, and profile information.

Yes. Forge of Holding is free to use. There are no paid tiers, premium features, or advertisements.

Forge of Holding has basic offline support as a Progressive Web App (PWA). You can install it on your device from your browser. Previously loaded character sheets are cached for offline viewing, but importing, editing, and sharing require an internet connection.
